Mads Birgens is educated as an architect from Århus School of Architecture, and has worked for PLOT and OMA before joining COBE in 2006. Today he is working as a Project Director and is part of COBE’s management.

He has extensive experience as an architect and has been responsible for a large number of prestigious masterplans at COBE, including the development of Nordhavnen and Nørreport Station in Copenhagen, Science Village Scandinavia in Lund and latest Deutzer Hafen in Cologne. In addition to being the driving force in the creative development he has been responsible for the coordination and communication within a large number of clients in the Nordic region.

Mads Birgens has a broad knowledge and understanding of planning for a sustainable and resilient future, and will talk about COBE’s work in Copenhagen titled »Our Urban Living Room«, which has taken shape as an exhibition, now travelling through Europe, and a large book release.
